Overview

The BEBC ASEAN Blue Economy & Smart Sustainability Summit 2026 (ABES³ 2026) is a premier international summit that brings together policymakers, government agencies, researchers, industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, development organisations, and community representatives to accelerate the development of a resilient, innovative, and sustainable Blue Economy ecosystem.

Hosted in Sabah, Malaysia, the summit positions Sabah as the strategic gateway connecting the Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) through innovation, sustainable economic development, and regional collaboration. Leveraging Sabah's rich marine biodiversity, strategic geographical location, growing digital infrastructure, renewable energy potential, and vibrant research ecosystem, the summit provides a unique platform to strengthen cross-border partnerships and unlock new opportunities for sustainable growth.

Organised by the Blue Economy Business Community (BEBC), BES³ 2026 integrates the key pillars of Blue Economy, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Renewable Energy, Digital Transformation, Blue Carbon, Smart Infrastructure, Smart Mobility, and Sustainable Development to foster innovation, investment, technology transfer, policy dialogue, and human capital development.

The summit aligns with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI, the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), the National AI Roadmap, the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, the BIMP-EAGA Vision, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through strategic dialogue and collaborative action, BESS³ 2026 aims to establish Sabah as a regional catalyst for sustainable economic transformation and a gateway for innovation across the BIMP-EAGA region.
